Checking in after a brief hiatus
Today's weigh-in
Current Weight: 187.2 lbs
Weekly Gain/Loss: -1.2 lbs
Total Weight Loss: -17.8 lbs
April 3 weigh-in
Current Weight: 188.4 lbs
Weekly Gain/Loss: -1.0 lbs
Total Weight Loss: -16.6 lbs
As you can see the scale is still going down, slowly but surely. It was really hard this past week because I have a sinus infection. My face is full of gross and annoying mucus. Whenever I am sick I don't feel like doing anything productive. I have not been eating well, nor exercising as much as I should, but the scale is still going in my favor, thankfully. I have noticed a change in how 2 of my shirts fit me. But for the most part it's the same old same old.
I go to the dentist for the first time in almost 10 years this week. I know, you're thinking gross. I hate dentists and I'm scared shitless to go. But I'm going to be brave and realize my teeth are in bad shape and the dentist will tell me I need lots of expensive surgery and I need to take care of them better, etc., etc. I'm getting myself prepared. I just hope I don't vomit when they are looking at my teeth. They've already been warned about my acid reflux.
My co-worker thinks she has bronchitis. I'm hoping that's not what I hate. My throat/chest feels better today. My nose is still stuffy though.
I need to clean my house but I'm lazy. I'm also thinking about moving but I'm lazy.

It's Kind of a Funny Story
Current Weight: 189.4 lbs
Weekly Gain/Loss: -1.6 lbs
Total Weight Loss: -15.6 lbs
I'm having a bad day. I lost this week but I still feel shitty about myself. I remember that first week of Weight Watchers when I lost 9.2 lbs and my first goal of 184.5 didn't seem far away. I'm now 8 weeks into the program and still haven't made it to that 10% goal and at the rate I'm losing it will be another 5 weeks away. I'm getting frustrated, for sure.
I was sick this past week. I came down with some kind of stomach flu which made me miss a day of work. I didn't even lose weight the healthy way this week. It was entirely vomit induced. Between the flu and my allergies and acid reflux... I was on the toilet for a good portion of the past 3 days. I even vomited last night. I really, really hate my body.
I watched It's Kind of a Funny Story last night. The guy was so stressed out that everything made him vomit. Watching it made me have to vomit.
So enough whining from me for now. I'm up ready to cure this depression with some shopping, not for clothes because that would again be depressing, but for 600 thread count sheets and luxury bedspreads. Spending money I don't have to spend... it's the American way.

I'm starting to get it
Current Weight: 191.6 lbs
Weekly Gain/Loss: -2.4 lbs
Total Weight Loss: -13.4 lbs
So happy that I lost weight this week after 2 weeks of maintaining. How did I do it? Eat less, exercise more. You're probably saying duh, Laura. Well that's easier said than done. Weight Watchers gives me 29 points to use each day. I also get 49 extra points to use during the week. Most people from the message boards said they were using all the extra points and still losing weight. I used all mine too and lost 10.4 lbs in the first 2 weeks. The next 2 weeks and lost 0.6 lbs. I started looking into it more and the people who used all their extra points were also logging in 20-25 activity points a week. Guess how many activity points I was getting? 3! My body and mind isn't in shape enough to log in 20 activity points but I did put more effort in and got 12 activity points. I then used 24 of my weekly extra points instead of the full 49. It's all about finding the perfect balance and making the program work for your body. This upcoming week I'm focused on getting 15 activity points in. I'll make it to 20 eventually!
This turkey chili is very good and easy to make. It's become a staple in our house. In fact, after I'm done typing this I'm going to put it in the crock pot for dinner.
Slow Cooker Turkey Chili
1 lb raw turkey sausage, hot-Italian variety (I get this at Kroger in the turkey section. 4 "brats" equal 1 lb)
15 oz canned pinto beans, undrained
14 1/2 oz canned diced tomatoes, with chilies, undrained (I use 1 can of Hunt's diced tomatoes and 1 can of dice green chilies)
14 1/2 oz canned diced tomatoes, with garlic and onions, undrained (I use Hunt's fire roasted with garlic - no fructose corn syrup, ftw)
1 medium onion chopped
1/4 tsp table salt, or more to taste
1/4 tsp black pepper, or more to taste
Remove sausage from casing and place in a 4-quart or large slow cooker; break up meat with a spoon. Add beans, both cans of tomatoes with their liquid and onion; stir.
Cover slow cooker: cook on low setting for 5 to 6 hours. Stir in salt and pepper. Yields about 1 1/2 cups chili per serving. 4 servings total.
I garnish my chili with 1/4 cup 2% low-fat shredded cheese and more diced onions.
Weekly Gain/Loss: -2.4 lbs
Total Weight Loss: -13.4 lbs

Box is always a funny word
Especially when you add money to it. Money box. Money box. Money box. Juvenile? Yes. But after sitting in a 2 hour meeting with people talking about money boxes... man that's funny.
Girl scout cookies arrived today. So let's go back in time, I remember staring at the order form trying to decide how many boxes I could order without looking like a fatty. Apparently I decided on 6 because they are on my desk. Mocking me. 2 Thin Mints are 5 weight watchers points! I could probably eat 2 boxes in one sitting, easily. Thank goodness they freeze well and my boyfriend has a sweet tooth and can devour them before they end up on my ass.
Had dinner at Edamame tonight. Ordered 4 rolls between my bf and I and only ate 1. Victory. Also ate an ice cream bar. Un-victory.
I've been walking in the parking garage for 30 minutes (15 minutes downhill and 15 minutes uphill) on my lunch breaks. I've also been doing 20 minutes of Kinect workouts. Being lazy makes you forget about all the terrible things there are in the world... like squats and jumping jacks. I like how I can see all my fat jiggling around on my 42" high def tv. I haven't decided whether it's motivation or cruel and unusual punishment.
I really want to lose weight this week. I'm done with this maintaining crap.

Another week of maintaining
Current Weight: 194.0 lbs
Weekly Gain/Loss: -.8 lbs
Total Weight Loss: -11 lbs
Well technically I lost weight, right? It was an interesting week. I drank more, as in booze. I went to the bar twice this week. I also ate some really terrible things *cough whitecastle cough* Boy did my stomach hate me for that! Never again!! I used ALL my weekly weight watchers points and ALL my activity points. I had a lot more activity points this week so that was a plus. Now if I could get the activity points and not use them! Dieting is much easier when you aren't being social. How do people do it? Maybe if my social activities didn't always involve bars and eating...
I went shopping and I'm now in size 16 petite pants and XL misses shirts. Yeah!! I guess I wasn't noticing my women's 1x were looking baggy on me. I was soooo excited. I rewarded myself by getting 2 pairs of pants and 3 shirts and a necklace. Then I went to the bar and drank 3 beers. *sigh*
